Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. The law on them is in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, regulation 6 of which was replaced on 5 February 2026 by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. It says a website must not store information in, or read it from, your device except as Schedule A1 allows. Some uses are allowed without asking first, such as storage that is strictly necessary for something you have asked for. This page explains what our website stores, why, and what you can do about it. It was last updated on 20 October 2026.
01
What the website itself sets
The pages you read here, the menus, the price tables and the guides set no cookies of their own. The typefaces are stored on our own server, so loading them does not contact a font service.
The website runs on WordPress. WordPress sets cookies only for people who sign in to manage the site; a visitor who never signs in does not receive them.
02
Parts of the site that load from other companies
The enquiry form
The quote form is provided by our enquiry-form supplier and appears in a frame inside the page, loaded from their server. When we checked it on 20 October 2026 it set no cookies on loading. Your browser still connects to that server to show the form, which means the server sees your internet address, as any website you visit does.
The area maps
The maps showing the area we cover are drawn from OpenStreetMap tiles. Your browser fetches the map images from OpenStreetMap's servers, which again see your internet address. The map uses no cookies of ours.
The Google map on the contact page
Our Google Business Profile map loads from Google and sets Google cookies. So it stays as a plain placeholder until you click to load it. If you never click, Google's map is never loaded and no Google cookie is set by it. If you do click, Google's own cookie and privacy terms apply to what it stores.
The WhatsApp button builds a message in the page and only contacts WhatsApp when you choose to send it. Nothing is stored before then.
03
Measuring visits to the site
We may use Google Analytics, connected through Google's Site Kit plugin for WordPress, to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. If it is switched on, Google Analytics sets cookies whose names begin with _ga.
The law allows storage used only for statistical purposes, often called the analytics exception, without asking first, provided we give you clear information about it, as we do here, and an easy way to object. You can object at any time by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings, or by using Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics. Doing so will not stop any part of the site from working.
If we ever add a tool that needs your consent before it runs, we will ask for that consent first and update this page.
04
How to control or delete cookies
Every main browser lets you see the cookies a site has stored, delete them, and block them in future, either for all sites or for one. Look in your browser's settings under privacy or site data. Blocking cookies from this site will not stop you reading any page, calling us or using WhatsApp. Blocking third-party cookies may stop the Google map from showing after you click it.
For more about how we handle the personal information you send us, see our privacy policy.
